After the success of the recent exhibiiton at Tullibole Castle (see below) I'm delighted to be returning there for a repeat showing of the remaining work. This is in conjunction with Scottish Civic Trust's Doors Open Days running for the weekend of 24th/25th September 2011. Opening times are 10.30am - 4pm both days.
Thank you to all who visited the exhibition at Tullibole Castle. It was a great turnout and lovely to see lots of old friends and make new ones. Particular thanks to Lord and Lady Moncrieff for offering this opportunity of displaying artwork at the castle and making the link for everyone with construction of the Witches Maze Memorial in the castle grounds.

My recent artwork has been inspired by the creation of a woodland maze within the grounds of Tullibole Castle as memorial to 11 women persecuted as witches in Crook of Devon in 1662.
Living near Crook of Devon and Tullibole Castle makes the history and context of these womens lives very poignant to me.
Lord and Lady Moncrieff of Tullibole Castle have been greatly informative and helpful regarding imparting their understanding of the history of these persecutions and reasons for creation of a maze as memorial to the women.
Words such as truth, tolerance, honesty, wisdom and humanity formed the emotive context of womens lives at that time as did fear, hypocrisy, intolerance, greed and envy and have influenced this body of work as have the seasons and changes in the land.
For the first time this year I will be participating in Perthshire Open Studios and I am grateful that a space has been offered at Tullibole Castle as a venue to display some of this new work. It would be great to see you there and you can also visit the maze which is still in its growing stages. Take the opportunity of visiting other artists along the turqouise route of Open Studios.
